So, it turns out I may be slightly addicted to television...

Rabies and Wunderkinds

So... Most of you are aware that my favourite show (apart from the tragically canceled Veronica Mars) is The Office. And you can only imagine how much I was anticipating the season 4 premiere. I even had a countdown on my Facebook profile.

When 10 o'clock rolled around last night and I eagerly turned on the TV for an hour long fix of the folks in Scranton I couldn't have been happier.

Then I watched the episode.

Needless to say, I watched the entire episode only out of loyalty. It felt long, overdone and forced. I felt very let down. This is an amazing cast with incredibly talented writers so I'm going to chalk this up to a one-off issue and not let it affect me. But if this turns into a Gilmore Girls kind of situation where I just abruptly stopped watching sometime before Christmas and never picked it up again...well... that would be sad.

On the plus side, there were some good things about this episode and I even laughed out loud at least 3 times. (1) When Angela was telling Dwight all the things he needed to do for her cat (2) When Creed discussed the pros and cons of being cult follower versus cult leader (3) Ryan the wunderkind - loved Ryan in his new role!

I felt JAM was a let-down. I gasped out loud when he kissed her at the end of season 2, I felt Pam's pain all through season 3, I cried with Pam at the season finale. And... I just didn't feel it for the premiere. Don't get me wrong - I'm ecstatic they are together I just felt it was very anti-climactic in an episode that really just left me longing for the better days of The Office.

On to better days ahead. I hope.
